October was National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and November 25, 2020 is International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. During this time, we bring awareness to this critical GLOBAL issue. As the world retreated inside homes due to the lockdown measures introduced to curb the COVID-19 pandemic, reports showed an alarming increase in the already existing pandemic of violence against women. Domestic Violence affects everyone! The Joliet Area/South Suburban Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is teaming up with multiple organizations and domestic violence direct/indirect survivors to invite you to a panel discussion in which we will provide education, resources, testimonies and answer questions from you on matters of domestic violence and solutions for healing. When equipped with a heightened level of awareness and an understanding of the concrete actions necessary to get there, social change can occur. This transformation becomes possible when individuals, families, communities, and institutions have access to both knowledge and tools.

We encourage you to submit anonymous questions for the panel to discuss on November 22 at 4:30 PM at our live virtual event. Questions may be submitted at jassaciai2019@gmail.com.  Tune in to the event to find out how you can be a change agent in your community.
